I could be way off, but my understanding of the article was that...

    I could be way off, but my understanding of the article was that 12% of all wells drilled were dry but 50% of exploratory wells drilled were dry. Both pints refer to 'dry wells' so can't see how the definition would differ. Ie - dry well is dry and / or non- commercial
