The proposition has been put that the lack of treatment and fatal outcome are contributing factors to suggest it is likely an FDA trial will proceed, no-one suggests CVac is going to be "waved through".

As for the article, the drug in question seems principally spoken of as a chemo-sensitising agent to multiply the effect of the chemo agent a hundred-fold.

This enables one hundredth of the chemo dose to be given, with the same outcome - one which so far does not appear to comprise an effective or effective enough "cure".

There doesn't seem to be an obvious adverse outcome for CVac that such a drug is in development for different aspects of treatment of the same cancer.

The article also mentions the drug in relation to prostate cancer - didn't seem to have slowed down Dendreon.

With the money spent on cancer research world-wide, there must be a tremendous number of compounds being researched.
