Like yourself I am flabbergasted at the long term overview and stupidity of Conroy and his "troop". Albert Eistein defined INSANITY as something like: 'repetition of the same dubious action with an expectation of a different resultant'.

How many years away will it be before the NBN (if it is ever built) is privatised under the subjectively distorted name of "fair competition???" (As has happened and is currently still happening with TELSTRA)? The answer of course is whenever clever opportunistic short term profiteers get the ear of deficient idealogs who have very little common sense and are TOTALLY bankrupt in the forsight and wisdom department.

Surely fair competition involves a starting point of RESPECT FOR OTHERS' PROPERTY. Such selective socialism, as we are witnessing, seems to me to be on the cusp of corruption.

Let Optus, Hutchison, IInet,.,.,.,.,., and the rest of the pack with not very much tangible infastructure, and some with even less substance REALLY COMPETE ON A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD BY PROVIDING THEIR OWN NETWORKS.

ARE WE NEXT TO EXPECT FORD AUSTRALIA OR GM TO BE COMPELLED BY THIS GOVERNMENT TO LET A START-UP OFFSHORE AUTO MAKER USE ITS FACTORIES AND MACHINERY ?.
