MDT in my opinion represents very good value in the lower end of cheap REITs. These cheaper heavily discounted trusts are coming under more notice as the whole sector has started to improve (refer XPJ). Coming off low bases some of these REITs offer very high potential percentage gains if the market rerates them. Look at GPT & MCW as similiar situations a few months ago that have produced excellent gains for their holders.
Expect to see a quick move once 15 cent barrier is broken. We are in good company when value funds like Legg Mason are prepared to pay 14.7 cents average cost to acquire 4 million (refer recent SSN for MDT).
Whilst no investment advice is given, I think a little research could be worthwhile.
