The concept was very promising; a pill that enhances one's metabolism. Not so unrealistic. And with the obese population increasing every year, it was not such a bad speculative investment a few years ago.
Personally, I too would rather exercise than take a pill, but there are millions who would take the easy way out.
Just because you ended up being right about MBP failing doesn't mean you are right about a pill not being able to alter a human's metabolism. I still think they were on the right track, and such a pill will be available one day.
