RIO still has tier 1 assets that are the envy of most mining companies. If it was a dog, BHP would not have made a bid in the first place. Sure they have lots of debt, but they have massive cashflows as well.
Sure it will be whacked today and short term, but long term it will work through its issues and bounce back
