    Equinix:
    * Have big financial backing.
    * Now have data centres in the two main markets (SYD/MLB)
    * Far more established in the Sydney market than NextDC which would also translate into far more revenue than NextDC. This could translate into existing customers picking them in Melbourne.
    * Preference of new customer's to be housed close to their existing customers.
    * International presence - could mean they are more likely to be chosen by foreign companies already using them overseas.
    * I think there is a reason GlobalSwitch has only invested in Sydney & Equinix in SYD/MLB.

    NextDC:
    * Possibly more nimble.
    * More innovative?

    Ultimately I think there's probably not a lot in it and it will just come down to supply and demand. We just have to remember that everyone will be getting a piece of that pie.
    Obviously facilities become more profitable as they fill up and will fill quicker the less supply there is. So as long as there doesn't become a drastic oversupply problem.

    I did forget to mention before Equinix is actually building their 4th Sydney DC.(SY4) http://www.itnews.com.au/news/equinix-to-build-fourth-sydney-data-centre-403368

    In relation to the Government, well that comes down to what government tender panels your on.

    Only small relative to their total holdings. Not small in Australia.
