It was a widespread strategy in the mid-90's for junior mining companies....of course it produces dilution so you need to strike a good balance, but I think it helps the sp to stay above the offer price during a raising......and you get more warm fuzzy feeling because the option money is delivered directly to the company; people are more likely to invest rather than buy on-mkt. It means that dilution-related sp drop would not occur until such time as the overall sp was in a much healthier position too. Its about shareholders feeling as if they are being well treated, like Myers shareholders getting customer discount cards, etc, etc. Mind you, there looks to be plenty of institutional support for this one, perhaps they don't need those sort of frills.
