I'm not a technical analyst, but it seems pretty obvious to me that Wotif will be more resilient than most at a time when Australian tourism is under pressure. Its results yesterday were great, and I can see why. (I bought the shares a long time after I started using the web site - for a while they were just too darned dear.)
I've discussed it with several local retailers (booked under Wotif) and they seem quite happy to have their otherwise unused rooms in use. Also used it to find a nice place in Tokyo.
Obviously there are other global sites that do a similar job, but I suspect it will take something major to dislodge Wotif from this market.
