some of these posts amuse me. when a company buys a stake in another company it doesn't mean they bought with a view of taking over the company within months - it may be years. perhaps they have surplus cash and no where to invest it so they take a strategic stake and invest for long term, say 5 years +
i doubt VPE would pay a 100% premium also.
from memory, as its been a while since i visited my thoughts on value, though nothing has changed really since then, the share price is not ridiculously low at 4.5cents. in my opinion its cheap in short term and may run up to circa 6 or 7 once drilling commences AND positive results are returned though i dont think the company is worth 9 cents at this stage.
for the record i bought in at 4.5 and if it ran to mid 6
s i'd quickly sell unless it ran on the basis of some strong fundamentals.
sentiment is usually as important as fundamentals, particularly in short term investing.
