"China has had what they called a ethnic minority ( always dressed in blue Mou suits)"
China has many ethnic minorities spread mainly in the southern and western regions.
"Chinese" is a nationality, not a description of one's racial origin (just like "American" is a nationality).
The majority of the Chinese nationals are the Hans, whom we call Chinese.
"Hans" has its origin in the Han Dynasty which ruled a big part of the Chinese mainland for some years. The people under its rule called themselves the Hans.
There was another dynasty that ruled China before the Han Dynasty and it was called the Tang Dynasty. For the same reason the same group of people who lived in the same geographical area liked to call themselves the Tang people during the rule of the Tang Dynasty. In some parts south-east Asia, you can still hear some overseas Chinese living there calling themselves the Tang people and some call themselves Han people.
Yes, China as a nation is made up of various racial tribes. Besides the "Hans", there are also the Manchus who live in the the north-eastern part (formerly called Manchuria) of China. There are also the Mongols who live in Inner Mongolia, and there are also the Uyghurs (who are mainly muslims) who live in Xinjiang. There is a sizable Korean community in the north-eastern province. This is just to name a few.
It is a complex nation.
