BND is a better suite for NHC, given all the independent coal miners are getting cleared out.

New Hope to shut New Oakleigh coal mine

NEW Hope will close its New Oakleigh mine near Ipswich, Queensland early next year.

"The mine has now reached the end of its productive life," the company said in a statement today.

Production at the coal operation has declined in recent years, falling to just 350,000 tonnes in 2012, New Hope said.

The company produced more than 4.8 million tonnes of saleable coal in the nine months to April, its most recent output figures show.
