Since this thread is called "Would pay to get some hydrogen knowledge", here are some very important facts

Everyone supporting this project is claiming it is blue and carbon neutral. Hydrogen from coal gasification is not carbon neutral

1) Blue hydrogen produced in Australia will not be carbon neutral, but create at least 3.5 tonnes of green house gasses for every tonne of hydrogen. Now if you are mining a coal seam that experts are saying will never be mined because of the depth and remoteness, you can expect the emissions to be significantly higher. Do you consider this to be clean?




2) it will use 41 tonnes of water for every tonne of hydrogen. Remember these guys are in a desert, and the underground aquifer supplies the nationally significant Witjiras-Dalhousie Springs complex. You think any tree hugger is going to allow that to happen?
