Here are some of my own thoughts as to how this all came to this point.

Firstly, the US has done a very successful job of sandbagging metalstrom technology in my opinion, even to the extent that metalstorm found it hard to get just one of the majors in the US interested in taking a position, the US has been very duplicitous in the way it has gone about any dealings with metalstorm, one the one hand they have said they weren't buying it, but coming from a number of other directions they have said they very much feared the technology, and they were concerned it would proliferate,I think the whole thing driving this was that the US were trying very hard to down play any perceived benefit from using the tech, particularly mach 5/50, and more importantly especially not to give a heads up to it's enemies, do you really seriously consider that they would sell to some hick from the Philippines? NAH no way!

I really believe that the US thought they would just drive us into bankruptcy, any bury it ?

But looking at it from another direction,I believe the US saw that we were maybe about to make the grade on our own, through some weapons sales to the UAE in conjunction with STk? Mr Combet couldn't wait to get to the US and inform them that we were on the verge of having a salable weapon, I believe this caught the US on the hop, but this proposed sale was something they were totally against in my opinion, I believe the US government in some way stumped up the dollars with the proviso that no sales were made to anyone without their permission, but having said that, I seriously doubt that the US would want to be seen to be buying into half a Defense company that was foreign owned, one who perhaps will be a competitor to it's own defense companies one day,you could imagine the furore over something like that especially from the lobby groups! I believe the US will divest their position to some, or one of the US majors when the time is right, when all of the testing has been done and sales are on the way, I believe this is why they are hiding behind the shelf company, that is what is driving this because there is not a snowballs chance in hell that they will let any other country have access to this tech, because it all points to mach 5/50, and that is the same reason they have prevented anything that even remotely resembled metalstorm technology from ever being sold, I won't go on with what they were, because you have heard this way too many times now anyway.
