    Yes, I can assure you I understand that. They were also travelling at (maximum) 13 to 18 km per hour. That is a little bit faster than a human can comfortably run.It's actually slower than a human CAN run. Also, mission planners tend to be a bit smarter than random folks on the internet (the modern equivalent of the "bloke in the pub what said...").

    Also, the tyres were made of mesh. They were designed for the conditions. Just for fun, look up "lunar rover tyres"

    The VERY first thing you will get back is "The tire is made of a woven mesh of zinc-coated piano wire to which titanium treads were riveted in a chevron pattern. This pattern kept the wheels from sinking into the soft lunar soil."

    Holy shit! Can you credit that? The people planning the missions knew what conditions they expected to find, they had earlier missions without rovers to confirm their understanding of the surface conditions, designed their equipment for it and created operating protocols to prevent the wheels spinning while in use.
