Again, photographing stars with a hand held camera from the moon, in adverse(for photographing stars) conditions would have achieved nothing. Scientifically or artistically. We can take MUCH better photos from the ground, and hand been able to for decades.

We didn't send people to the moon to photograph stars. We sent them to explore the moon. And guess what they spent their time photographing. The moon. And people exploring the moon.

They didn't go as tourists.
