We didn't send people to the moon to photograph stars. We sent them to explore the moon. And guess what they spent their time photographing. The moon. And people exploring the moon.

They didn't go as tourists.


That's a fairly naive perspective of why they went to the moon.

We sent them to explore the moon - they were on the moon for under 22 hours!

And guess what they spent their time photographing- and yet they could not photograph the stars and other planets from there

Money well spent - the cynic in me says that Stanley Kubrick could have done just as good a job in a studio - for much less money!
