I caught up with a former associate, after 30 odd years recently. His first marriage failed, and he has had 3 unsuccessful relationships since then. He is living alone now. I think some people, probably many people, are just not suited to marriage or living with a mate. The majority do it, simply because it is expected of them. Almost everyone I know thinks one must be strange, if they are not in a relationship, or seeking the big love, again and again. Many people feel they are not a whole person, unless they have someone hanging on their arm.
I am the odd one out. I am a stand alone person, I do not need anyone to support me, nor to be my other half, or an extension of myself. Ps I never planned to marry, I simply fell into it by coercion. Most people I know, will keep looking for a mate.
