That tells me that BLD sold it better to the instos than Fenn and the DOW people and it does not tell me much more than that.
BLD and DOW are in slightly different industries and BLD is not and never really was a takeover target itself.
The retail piece will be interesting and we were bound to get some volatility. IMHO SPO TO bid was a reasonable move but if not, DOW is due a TO based on a weaker than fair value SP and the industry it is in is internationally consolidating IMHO but pls DYOR.
