Elon seems to be aiming at going big , so has to knock the cost down & bring the volume up , in order to take on or compete with the likes of GM / TOYOTA , etc . The "downside" of that I guess is that it loses some of its "wow factor" & will become plain Jane vehicles for the masses . Not necessarily a criticism , there will always be a market for luxury & performance , but it doesn't represent the majority .
