Results could go either way tomorrow. While I'd imagine sales going through the roof (including BigW), there is likely an increase in overhead costs for managing stores to cope with the changes brought about through the pandemic including the hiring of new staff, installing protection barriers, security guards, sanitisers etc
Correct me if Im wrong.. Woolworths also own a number of shopping complexes that would have a higher vacancy rate/need to provide rent relief to tenants.
And the cost of improving technology such as ecommerce changes in addition to the initiatives being run out of their Woolies X division.
Lets see if they did it better than Coles. Can't wait
