ENGIN COLLABORATES WITH HP AND INTEL TO BROADEN
VOIP REACH FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM BUSINESSES
Sydney, 17 October 2006: Engin, Australia’s leading Internet phone company,
today announced a partnership with Hewlett-Packard to bring easy integration of
Internet phone calling connectivity (also know as VoIP) to Hewlett-Packard Business
Desktop and Notebook Computers. Small and medium sized businesses can reduce
their phone costs by 75% with Engin’s Internet phone calling services1 .
The Engin-enabled product partnership will make VoIP connectivity and accessibility
easier than ever for Australian users, allowing more people to make significant
savings on their phone bills compared to traditional fixed line services.
Intel will engineer Engin’s VoIP technology into selected Hewlett-Packard (HP)
Business Desktop PCs and the Engin Soft phone will be pre-configured on selected
HP Business Notebook Computers.
Engin, HP and Intel will take advantage of an innovative built-in adaptor, which
enables users to make low cost VoIP calls using their standard telephone via the
broadband Internet connection.
The Engin solution will be made available on selected models of HP Business
Desktop and Notebook Computers from October 2006 and will be targeted primarily
at small to medium sized businesses through HP resellers and channel partners.

Since its launch two years ago, Engin has attracted over 50,000 customers (as at 31
July 2006) across the nation (43,000 paying customers and 7,000 customers using
the free Engin Softphone) and today its network is carrying over 15 million minutes of
calls per month.
Engin converts normal analogue phone signals to digital and sends them over a
broadband Internet connection enabling home users and small businesses to make
calls to any landline in Australia and at any time for as little as 10 cents. Calls to
mobile cost from 20 cents per minute and international call rates start from 3.5 cents
per minute or 20 cents untimed, anytime to selected international destinations on the
Engin World 20 Plan.
