You are right that more competition would be a good thing for the sector. It might actually drive some innovation. Unless people think filling the store with intimidation tactics that only seem to be backfiring on social media and pissing off normal customers is innovation.
Perhaps a holder can correct me if I'm wrong here because I have not checked for a while, but last time I did check theft had gone UP despite all these measures.
