The real issue is housing and rents this is just camouflage for the government and gives MPs that spend most of their time sitting on their backside a chance for some media exposure.
If you look at the balance sheets of both Coles and Woolworths there are better buys with much higher margins, dividends and growth potential.
They have not been immune from rising utilities costs and rising government taxes and all that gets passed on to the consumer, at least they both pay the taxes unlike many other businesses.
