andy, i went to Coles yesterday to do the weekly shop for the flybuys special promotions, but i normally go to woolies.
i cannot find any evidence of cheaper prices at Coles. also, this may only relate to one particular store, but the range of essentials is not as vast as Woolies.
the meat dept.is not a patch on Woolies which have genuine MSA quality on most lines, at even cheaper prices than Coles. even the range of Coles eggs is very limited.
that is why i can't understand the same store sales decline.
maybe it has something to do with Coles's credit cards/flybuys and insurance products being flogged more effectively to the gullible masses.
ps- the new format Masters stores have improved by 30% in sales. i have also noticed that the latest catalog
has no white goods advertised and the new format stores will be complete by end of FY16. i think that any new CEO with a "brain" will jettison the dead wood at Master"s helm, and just copy the Bunnings format, as market share from Bunnings is very easily attainable.
cheers crazypunter
