That seems to be correct because AMEUF does not have trades recorded and transferred through the DTC, the US clearinghouse. So unlike other foreign ordinary shares I own that are traded in the US, AMEUF shares are not registered in the US under US securities laws. It seems that the only differences between AMEUF and AVR are that they are priced in different currencies and AMEUF probably has US market makers providing liquidity.

I love learning about this stuff but does any of it matter, probably not unless it's an issue upon uplisting somehow for holders of AMEUF (5% of my position is AMEUF) or if it complicates uplisting for the company in some way.
