If the rumours are true, then Woodside have lost the plot
they went from underdevelopment to trying to double their production through acquisition. At a time when their share is at decade low
if they take debt to buy BHP share then they have no money left for development.

Meg can blow my trumpet all day about how cheap this is, but the move will put the business in serious financial risk. Should oil price fall.
there is basically zero room for error when you commit to such a large acquisition. That risk is not worth the return should they be so lucky to pull it off. I would have lost too many sleepless nights
