Don't think BHP can expect a cash offer for the entire portfolio. No one globally would have pockets/appetite that deep. If they want cash its a breakup, the only outcome is messy and prolonged.
WPLs gearing is already too high for the sector, cap raise for even half is enormous and no chance in hell.
If its primarily scrip I think its positive, they're mature cash producing assets and value accretive. Its just adding scale (yes risk).
Also, good opportunity for smaller ungeared players like BPT to perhaps take a slice of top tier assets like Scarborough.
