WPL staff have seen ~100 go yesterday and are being kept in the dark as to who is next.
Is unusual, normally things are kept transparent to avoid unnecessarily unsettling the remnants.
IMHO WPL could be slimming down to be an attractive partner for BHP oil and gas (BOG).
I agree that it doesn't make sense for WPL to buy BOG with Scarborough and Senegal still to fund. But maybe BHP buys WPL, merges it with BOG and lists BOGWPL separately?
The Australian seems confident enough to put it out in "print".
