I think US oil stocks offer a different product in a different market and are a general category not a specific company. Dogs can be very good investments If you can think about and understand what is dogging them and can see a way through to their getting over their difficulties. But they involve risk and a gamble.
I like to have one or two underperformers brought cheaply in my kennel. There are many different investment styles for different folks, why does that bother you? You presumably have your own style of investment. Do you find that people harangue you about it? Or maybe you just keep it to yourself?
