US Fed begins interest rate hikes in March.... maybe futures investors think the economic meltdown will see some unemployment? Maybe they think the crashing asset values will lead to belt tightening and less discretionary spending on airlines and road trips and such.
Will the US$ appreciate as people run to cash in a crisis and hence commodity prices soften in US$ terms?
idk its very uncertain times for me.... Rampant inflation in energy prices and weakening aussie $ good for WPL
