Huh thats a laugh. I don't trust Betashares one bit. I bought OOO for an average price of $2.68 on 22 - 27 April 2020 when oil was briefly at $12 / barrel. A few days later beta shares decided to swap $12 oil for $30 (3 month forward contract) which they claimed was for safety. In effect, investors got smacked with a 60% loss. Anyone who bought prior to 29th April will never see their money returned. I spent the next 12 months furious and eventually sold all holdings for $6.25 with a CGT discount. While I did make some reasonable gains, I'd never touch it again. The PDS never said anything about changing contracts but was amended to say that they could. Your idea of a CFD is perhaps a better option.
I'm reasonably confident that WPL will eventually match the gains of Exxon. Bring on the $30 SP.
