Definitely agree that the chance of a Biden presidency is weighing down on the sector. Infact, the minute that Biden spoke about his "Green Plan" in the debate, was the very moment energy stocks dipped.

The elections are turbulent times and the market can really give you anything. Hard to time it, although the consensus with those that are holding stocks like WPL at the moment is that they're hoping for a post covid "pick-up rally". Markets have a way of not behaving the way we'd like. If we bought high risk assets with the expectation that they would return large gains, then by definition, they would not be high risk assets.

WPL is a high risk asset. Not only does it have to contend with the slow shift to renewables but it also has to deal with:

    • historically low prices
    • "woke culture" who hate anything to do with non-renewables
    • residing in an un-sexy sector
    • large overheads
    • Possible cap raise for acquisitions

Thats a lot of risk and I'm not sure that the current P/E or price truly reflects that risk. It needs to go lower..
