The oil and gas industry is one of the most high tech industries in the world and do a lot of R&D. Oil and gas will be in use for decades to come until Nuclear fusion becomes viable but that has always been >30 years away.
What the politicians won't tell you is that net zero will only be achieved with help by the oil majors with large scale natural gas and CCUS. Long WPL, XOM, CVX, RDS!
