wpl keeping quiet with cnooc lurking?

In a blinding flash of insight (how slow can you be) it just struck me perhaps why WPL is saying nothing about Mauritania at present and seems to have the screws on HDR to do likewise. The media is full of speculation about CNOOC having a go at WPL and BHP have been touted as a rival bidder. As with when WPL and HDR wanted to shaft ENI at a bargain price...then make a motza from their equity in Mauritania .. perhaps WPL management wants to make itself and HDR for that matter as small a target as possible. Then when and if a takeover move comes WPL can reel out the data on Mauritania as the secret weapon to show what they are REALLY worth.

Just conjecture of course and hopefully totally wrong ... allowing HDR to give us full details in the upcoming quarterely ... yeah right!!
