I would say in low magnetic zones discrete anomalies are easier to pick up than in ‘ noisy’ high magnetic geology that’s all. The pegmatites are about 200 million years younger than the mafic geology.
At Cancet the sulphide minerals in the intrusion are very magnetic so give strong response ,but in the end they are just a host place for the pegmatite to bed in. Same for Corvette.
At the Butte pegmatite there’s probably no sulphides, but just a suitable structural zone.
I guess if your finding pegs around magnetic highs you would obviously check all the other mag highs out.
And of course topographic highs in a low mag zone are something you really want to check out.
