Example RAF might understand: Little Johnny bought some shares at the IPO in his SMSF. He is very happy with the return so far and realises that if the SP goes from $2 to $5, he is going to have a further $9m tied up in his SMSF, so the shares are transferred/sold to another entity he owns at the SP of the time.
