Some thin pegs sure, some of which are halfway to the centre of the earth. Who is going to want to finance that?

So I don't see much in WA that is economic coming online.

Particularly as the WA economy is overcooked (and inflation in Australia is rampant) and those up-and-coming companies are going to find it hard to get personnel - no matter what they are prepared to pay them. Those salaries will need to be eye watering.

A new sub-species of bogan will have Jetskis and landrovers for days...

Its probably not helpful that iron ore is also going gangbusters right now - as those guys have plenty of money to take whatever workforce is available for their needs. What then?

Beg the Australian government to issue visas to secure temporary workers from third world countries. Good luck. Hey, but perhaps you could secure gainful employment there? I am sure it would be nice to get out of that basement. Might help settle your conditions.

Then of course there are the very high energy costs. And deisel is not very ESG. Good luck selling into Europe.

And shipping costs - what do you recon it would cost to get that lithium from WA to the US? Pretty large overheads, I recon.

We have that route nailed down from the Pilbara to China though. So I guess you could sell it all to China, for whatever price they are willing to pay for it. Doubtful they will want to pay too much. The have Africa on tap. I guess you'll get Africa supply prices.

It's probably going to be pretty tough for the WA guys who are not incumbents. Gonna need a mountain of cash to get up and running. I bet those ill-informed punters won't stick around once the exploration is done.

Because its time then to move onto the next big thing that won't ever become a mine.
