Obviously The West started making up the rules once they dominated the Industrial Revolution whilst feudal china languished behind old traditions and a closed border.
After WW2 the West cemented its place at the top of the World Order until the recent years where its being challanged by a resurgent China.
In order to not give up their power and control - they will try every trick in the book. But in the end all self-centered empire falls - through internal rot and corruption as seen in the USA
