Strategics want certainty of supply.
They do not want to deal with the vagaries of the lithium market.
Would you take a chance your business will fall over because you can't get the lithium you need to make your products?
Or would you pay a modest premium to ensure your business survives and thrives in the EV era?
In the scheme of things this is just a small extra cost for manufacturers who need it.
There is a reason CE is being chased by strategics.
