Cost of reagents mean some of this bonded lithium is not only lost but the fluorine is toxic and now in the waste water and into the environment. The economics of low grade lepidolite mines are terrible.
And again very good points in that post on the tailings dam requirements and permitting. Even in China water pollution is an issue that regional governments cannot ignore like the past. They are running out of clean freshwater…The ruling party have made some apparent commitments.
