Not really surprising. What traders give, traders take away soon after. The vast majority of buys and sells in all stocks are made by traders coming and going. Let's just be comforted in the knowledge that they don't all win. Many of them buy and sell at the wrong times and lose a packet. On the other hand, those of us who have accrued a sizable holding and have studied the recent form know that we'll well and truly outstrip the fly-by-nights within the next 12 months.
