well, let's do the maths on those numbers.
But firstly, note that Renard appears to be 2.6mtpa not 2.2mtpa. Stornoway upgraded it, and it achieved 2.6mt throughput in 2019.
Secondly, I was modelling phase 1, which would be the shallow high-grade zone, I think >1.4%.
Your numbers: 2.2mtpa feed @ ___% avg grade and 80% recovery = 250-300ktpa SC6.
That implies avg grade of 0.85 - 1.03%, which is far too low. So, unless there were other constraints he was considering, I view it as another example of CE being cautious and under-promising.
