Another week on the water with some action, but still eagerly awaiting that major bite.

A solid outing overall, running the count up from 6 fish to 11. We've strung together a nice little streak recently after stumbling on that hot creek.

Personally I haven't pulled the trigger on that new gear yet, like I mentioned last week holding out for a sale or the new Extreme Rod 5000 dropping. But the way things have been going, I'll probably gear up again before too long. Just need those tackle companies to whet my appetite a bit more.

What's in store for the next float? Any legit hot tip could make waves. A real gem of a spot and I could push 20 fish toward that next goal in the 25 range.

On a slow day, 2 fish is probably the floor, but 7 is that good baseline I talk about a lot - solid action I'd be happy staying around.

As long as I can hang there, we're in good shape. That's the number I want to be catching to really double down. Fingers crossed we shake off this lull next trip and get buckets.

As for the critics - don't sweat the backlash I got last week, I knew posting an honest report would ruffle some feathers. But I did it anyway. I've been filing these fishing reports for 3 years. Seen the highs and lows. Lots of lakes that were hot for awhile are now virtually fished out.

Look through the past 100 fishing reports, nearly every single one has been bro hugs and high fives. Anyone reading those reports would think I'm hauling in monsters daily rather than going 7/25.
