To me, this screamed dip and rip - lotta red days leading up to it, right above support. Looks like most of the selling was retail / traders and assisted by accumulators over last week or so. They probably loaded up around $1 and offloaded some during the pump to $1.50. Now repurchasing their lot over the last week at a discounted rate.

Couple of early sells by retail into support (a little look below the value area low (blue line) for this consolidation) found some buyers which spurred either some covering or accumulators to buy..
