I remember when PDN (Paladin) made a $1b takeover of SMM (or was it SMN) summit resources for their Australian uranium deposit. Locked up, and never to be mined under the current 3 mines policy. (this was ages ago, in the previous U bull market) Yet some greed fever of securing long term assets takes place. Its a different game the majors play, in M&A for the long haul. And strategically, the same game can be played in the counter cycle.
