Chris has implied in announcements that a deal with a strategic partner is close to fruition but I wonder how much conviction there really is behind that. In his shoes, with full conviction, I would have gone ahead with the Renard take-up last week as planned and paid the $1M. That would have said to the supposed partner, "Right, we're not stuffing around. We've got the processing plant, we're progressing plans for the road design, and either you want in or someone else will take your place." The taken course of action just raises doubts for me that they're sure of a partner before August and worried that market conditions might cause them to abandon Renard. In the shoes of a potential strategic partner I'd be figuring I could screw down a good stake at a bargain price now, with WR1 seemingly over a barrel. Hopefully I'm totally wrong of course, and also that the lithium cycle will turn soon, though I'm thinking that might come at the end of the year, as it did in 2020.
