That's not how explorers work.
Return or not, or lithium market sentiment or not, they will continue drilling and upgrading the resource, banking on a future recovery. The only other option is cesium exploration with the other tenements they hold, as mentioned by another user.
If they aren't drilling, they might as well shut up shop, and that won't happen as then they won't get paid.
They have options to *try* and create some value in their share price. Doing a 180 and attempting to purchase a goldy and/or flavour of the month would only be a last ditch effort, which IMO I don't think they will even consider it. Full 180's should only be considered for sick stocks on the way to palliative care, like AGY.
