You are absolutely right, if the price of lithium is too high, less people can afford EVs which is bad. But what is the alternative when ICE vehicles are all banned? People will be forced to buy EV, regardless of whether they can afford it or not. Or, start riding bicycles or walk. From the perspective of future lithium miners like WR1, this is not an issue but for battery car makers, it is. That’s why it is not in the interest of governments to hold up new mines supplying into the market, if their goal is to achieve their net zero targets.
