yes arguably US automakers may not be able to provide enough supply in the short term, and people won't want to buy a massively overpriced Chinese EV.
The new tariff therefore incentivises and derisks faster development of ex-China supply chain to meet demand in this new pricing environment. That's great for WR1.
If development lags then it will lead to supply being unsatisfied and therefore demand deferred, which just pushes those purchases into the future.
There are a few years before WR1's feed would be available, so it's not really a problem. Maybe 2027 production and cars using derived chems/cathodes in 2028.
